Install Sentora on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we’ll learn how to install Sentora on CentOS 7. We will also install and configure its prerequisites. If you like the power of cPanel, but would prefer a free and open source alternative, Sentora might be just what you’re searching for. I recommend to use a minimal Ubuntu server setup as a basis for the tutorial, that can be a virtual or a root server image with an CentOS 7 minimal install from a web hosting company or you use our minimal server tutorial to install a server from scratch.

Install Sentora on CentOS 7

Step 1. First, ensure your system is fully up-to-date by running the following:

yum -y update
yum -y install wget

Step 2. Installing Sentora Control Panel.

Sentora is installed via its own installation script. Download the installation file using wget and make it executable:

wget http://sentora.org/install
chmod +x install

Start the installation by executing install script:

./install

You will be welcomed by the following:

Checking that minimal requirements are ok
Detected : CentOs 7 x86_64
Ok.

The installation process prompts for a few configuration details:
• Select your continent
• Select your country
• Select the time zone
• The dns you will use for Sentora control panel
• The IP used for Sentora control panel

When finished, you’ll see your login information and MySQL credentials. You’ll also be asked to reboot your server. Do so after you’ve saved these details in a secure place.

Step 3. Accessing Sentora Web Installation.

Now you can access the Sentora Control Panel web install wizard in your browser by entering the domain name or http://your_ip/ to continue your Sentora installation.
