Install Plex Media Server on Ubuntu 16.04
Step 1. First, ensure your system and apt package lists are fully up-to-date by running the following:
apt-get update -y apt-get upgrade -y
Step 2. Installing Plex Media Server.
Download the package for Plex media server with following command:
Once Plex is downloaded, run the following command to install Plex:
sudo dpkg -i plexmediaserver*.deb
Enable Plex Media Server to start on reboot, and then start the server:
sudo systemctl enable plexmediaserver.service sudo systemctl start plexmediaserver.service
The last step after installing the file, go to Ubuntu dashboard and type plex in the search-bar. It will display the application icon, click on it to open.
