Install PhpStorm on Ubuntu 18.04
Step 1. First, ensure your system and apt package lists are fully up-to-date by running the following:

Step 2. Installing Java.
Java is required for the installation of PhpStorm so let’s install Java JDK:
apt-get install openjdk-9-jdk

First go the official website and download the tar archive:

tar -zxvf PhpStorm-2018.1.3.tar.gz
Next, switch to the bin directory:

An installation wizard will appear now and if you are doing a fresh installation choose “Do not import settings.”:
If you are not ready to purchase a license to use PhpStorm, you can select the 30 day free trial option.
Accept the license agreement.
In next window, select a theme, color, font and hit OK button.
After that’s done, you can start a new project in PhpStorm.
